What We Believe
We believe the answers are already within the communities we serve. We do not “know better” , we are partners in development work. Situational Humility is foundational for our team.
We believe we do not work “on behalf of” communities, we work alongside them.
We believe in asset-based design, evaluation, and funding frameworks. Individuals are not “helpless, poor, impoverished, or incapable” of choosing their own paths. Our work reflects the mutual dignity and respect all individuals deserve.
We believe that questioning and redesigning existing philanthropic systems and funding mechanisms is necessary to create systemic change.
We believe that just because we are consultants doesn’t mean we have to sound like them, we promise to limit the use of fluff words like “synergy”. Let’s get to work, not just talk about it.

“Charity, vertical, humiliates. Solidarity, horizontal, helps.”
— Eduardo Galeano
How We Do It
The Program Design and Evaluation Relationship
Why Our Approach Works
Ivanhoe Development combines technical grant writing with program design and evaluation. Our team is solely interested in the procurement, management, and stewardship of funds. We don't just find you money, we co-design and implement your programs to create highly effective social change. Our team believes in honesty, if you would just like a grant writer, we may not be for you.
